An independent group, B.A.R. adheres to the Best Practices Guidelines and Standards promoted by the Bichon Frise Club of America.
We receive no salary for our work; we operate solely on donations from caring people.
Although we are dedicated to helping Bichon Frise purebreds and mixes, we sometimes take in other small dogs who need
help getting a new family. We work with shelters and owners who can no longer care for their pets.
Each new dog is fostered in the home of a volunteer until a permanent adoption can be arranged. First, the dogs must be
examined by a veterinarian and health problems resolved, shots updated, and spay/neutering completed. Then they become part
of the foster family while their personalities and problems can be evaluated. When we know they are ready to love and trust
another guardian, we put them up for adoption.....and wait.
